Creating & Analysising A Film Poster
During the lesson on the 26th 0f June 2014 we were set a task to create a horror and a romance poster using the same 4 images for both, this task challenged our knowledge of how trailers are made and work.
I made two posters one titled "Till Death Do Us Part" which was a romance poster, the other, title "Stigmata" which was a horror poster. I feel both of these posters successfully represented their genres.
The first poster I created was a romance poster for this poster we used the four images we where given and resized and rearranged them so that the two characters where in front of the crosses (which we used to display billing)
the clouds where placed in the background to be foreshadowing and with our use of the title "Till Death Do Us Part" not only does it have ties to marriage but also the strong bond, almost faith, they share.
For our horror poster we used the title "Stigmata" as its has religious connotations and horror theme related to the crosses. The layout of our poster has symbolic reference to Heaven and Hell as we placed the clouds and titles under the crosses suggesting something is hiding. with the dating we used a bible reference sequence to further the idea of religious plot.
